Working closely with our Dispute Resolution and Litigation Practice, ALB also have a wealth of experience within the field of international and local; arbitration, and continue to act as local legal counsel for a range of State and Quasi-state owned entities in relation to a number of high profile ongoing technically complex international arbitrations within both the energy and construction sectors, with the claim value typically being in excess of US$100 million.

ALB’s Arbitration experience includes arbitrations conducted both inside and outside of the State of Qatar, including before both the International Court of Arbitration and the Qatar International Centre for Arbitration, with our recent experience including the following:

• Local counsel to a number of Qatari state/Quasi state owned institutions regarding a number of ongoing international arbitration relating to construction within the energy sector; claim value: US$100 million - US200 million;
• Local counsel in relation to an international arbitration relating to claims arising in the context of a commercial agency/ representation relationship within the engineering sector; claim value US$6 million.
